Painting Lessons
Her brushes and pigments,
the canvas stretched and primed;
a tentative first stroke –
what she really needs is
focus of the keen eye.
Focus of the keen eye
is fox, slipping from edge
to shadow, gone behind
the screen. Look inside for
that wildness just half-seen.
