Pain Is Just a Four-Letter Word

Pain is just a four-letter word,
it does not amount to anything.

One time I fell down from a tree
and fractured a part of my body;
I was thankful though it hurt a lot
for it confirmed I wasn’t paralyzed.

I loved a girl who turned me down
but it was okay it caused no frown
for I simply failed, I did not lose,
how could I lose what I didn't own?

Once I invested in the stock market,
lost some with no trace of regret,
what the heck it was just money
that I could earn in any given day.

I had a workout and I hurt a muscle,
but believe me I found it pretty cool
for I welcome life's occasional rain,
after all, “no pain, no gain”!

Failures and losses they are nothing
but the right attitude is everything;
when I am hit I come back for more
lest I won't know what lays in store.

Hey, pain is just a four-letter word,
it does not amount to anything.
