Pain

I walk
Hurt by the pushback
Knives of fury
Words of hurt
Gestures of misplaced kindness

The people understand me
As I am
What I am

And yet they don’t know me
Who I am
How I am

I walk
Tattered by the kindness
Taunted by the fury
Weakened by the hurt
Stronger from the pushback

Why can’t they see me
My panic my fear
My deep emptiness

Yet they do see me
My sorrow my despair
My unsettling demeanor

I walk
Anger for the fury
Starving for the kindness
Deprived by the pushback
Desperate from the hurt
