Owlspeak

I heard the owl call my name,
and tried to answer just the same.
Not sure he thought my efforts cute;
at least he didn’t give a hoot.
Undaunted, I did then resume;
as he flew off, he asked, To whom?

Put him in Alice in Wonderland. See if that owl can compete with Cheshire Cat. He'll get over-whoo-ed, I predict!
