Overworked

put down your pen, and have a little rest, as to much writing, can ruin the best, if it takes to long, to write a little song, all the best bits, will soon be gone, think of the words you want to say, then write them down, write them straight away, these words of mind come into my head, and when i get tired i just go to bed, i hope you like the poems i like to write, i will think of more, more again tonight, i think its time to have a little rest, as working to much can ruin the best

Much truth in this write, Ken. We have to capture those words and images right away or they can be lost forever. And I, too, get my best inspiration while falling asleep or just relaxing in a comfortable chair. So get some rest and write again! Merry Christmas. (Are you related to Soup member Karen O'Leary?) Love, Carolyn

I like your insight! I knwo exactly what you mean. I was writing last night and came to a point where my mind was frozen. I went to bed and woke up this morning and the rest of the poem just flowed out of me. A poem shouldn't be work, it comes from the heart. And when your heart is ready to open up to it, it will then come.
