OVEREXPOSURE

Born into a world
Who knew only fear
The space of birth
Couldn't draw near

Tunnel vision
Guided the eyes
Of the ones who
Would push for LOVE's demise

They saw too much,
Too often, too full
The nervous system
Fought against the pull

Salt is healing
But only in good measure
The burning of rot
Gives flesh, no pleasure

The mind can know
The TRUTH of rejection
But understanding exposure
Gives grace in the lack of affection

LOVE needed darkness
To show forth the LIGHT
Knowing full well
That fear abides in night

It is how it should be
Though compassion cries
Those who live for pleasure
Are the home of rooted lies

...in control
