Out There In the Cold

Well I pushed on through the night; but still out there in the cold.
So many knew I was coming, yet was left out all alone.
Struggle through so much time; just looking at my past.
Searching for a certain memory I could grasp.
Needing to find it soon; because I’m not sure how long I can last.
So many people think they see me; but I’m not sure they know what’s going on inside.
Their so far left from understanding things it’s no insult to my pride.
They here a playful laugh with a joker’s smile that I’ve been known to use as a shield.
If they took the time to look and see they would see layers in me they could easily peel.
Just because I’m smiling doesn’t mean there’s pain that I don’t feel.
Many thoughts run through my mind, they’re always there and all the time.
So it’s curious to me, will anyone see; or will I have to give some sort of sign
We all have our own thoughts of love, our dreams, and goals.
I have my own that come from deep within my soul.
So if you’re willing to share; just know I’ll be there, and then maybe we won’t be left out in
the cold.
I’ll be here waiting for you; so you will know my feelings and heart are true.
Then maybe in time you will see the things in me that I can offer you.
