Out of Time

Tears roll down supple skin,
This battle has come at a cost,
Unsure if the result were a win,
All hope once prevalent now lost.

Cast aside was my affliction,
I was forever destined to fail,
Never reason for contradiction,
I have created my own black veil.

Father time has cast me aside,
It seems that life will never be grand,
Understanding I am forced to abide,
The hourglass has lost its sand.

'...the hourglass has lost its sand' is a marvelous concluding phrase. Fine flow, language and rhyming. Welll done! Keith

This is very sad. But is it the end? Never give up on your dreams, ambitions, hope. "Cast aside was my affliction..." It's mine too, has been since the day I entered the world--has always been and is now.But no matters what happens around us, we must look within us to the beauty that we can create and give to ourselves and others. The way is hard...it's up to you do with your time...but I believe in you- I am looking at you through soul-eyes, and saying: you are worth more. Best wishes, Sara

You can't give up, there's always more time even when you think there isn't. Despite the sadness of this write, it's quite good in its rhyme and flow and overall effect through its imagery. Michael
