Out of the Middle

We walked through the fields
Trying to find the rainbows end
Where the gold would be
Where we would start our lives
We ambled through the forrest
Trying to find the rainbows end
Where the riches would be
Where life is good
We walked down to the river
Nearing the rainbows end

On our way home
After the long journey
To the rainbows end
To our new beginning
We smiled sweetly
For we had found a treasure
A true treasure...

I wrote this piece as a whole at first, but then deciding it was too boring and like every other, I took out the middle, letting every poet have their portion of imagination. Let the rainbows end be what you make it, that's not for me to decide! ~Jen~

Hi Jen, this poem is so provocative! Was it love that you found at "the rainbow's end"? Love your work! Carolyn
