Essence
The Essence, created by Emily Romano, is a short, structured form of 2 lines. There are six syllables in each line, with an end rhyme, and an internal rhyme. The internal rhyme is across both lines, and you may have more than one Essence with the same theme to form a verse.
As Autumn days grow cold
leaves gild green pathways gold.
A thing once swung with grace,
a swing looks out of place.
This summer-only toy,
looks lonely, stripped of joy.
