Our Sameness Is What Matters

A scrimmage
A scrummage
A squeamage
A dirvage

A political tryst
Dividing up sides
Slapping too easy
Assault rifles on

The reds
The blues
The greens
The yellows

A scrimmage
A scrummage
A squeamage
A dirvage

We laugh at our diversity
Knowing our sameness
Is what really matters

The media wins.
And we sit by
And let them.

I find the media more nosey than newsy. Something's happened to good, sound and objective reporting. It's almost impossible to know who is reporting the truth. / M

I never realized before that the integrity of news would be so rapidly swirling down toilets. I thought entertainment channels were not allowed to use the word "news" and yet they do. Also who knows what is true now? Facts probably do not have to be checked at all. Sad really.

The political arena is only going to get worse as time goes on and the news media are for the Democrats and will only put down the Republicans so the game is on. Interesting work. Thanks for dropping by my pages. Sara

Nice one...who's the Media...apart from the faces that push the agenda...We are from the same soil of the earth... as much as a tree or any living creature...

The media to me is the newspapers and the online news sources. But you are right, we are also the media - we poets are definitely the media!
