Our Own Son Or Chosen One

Our own son, our chosen one
Praise, honor, and glory we had for you
Memories of so long ago we saw in you
A young boy saying a final goodbye
Still brings a tear to this one’s eyes
With that one simple gesture you seemed to say
That hope had not died that dark day
Our boy grew up and was no longer John John
With the charm and charisma of his father, but was always Jackie’s son
You linked us to a magical time
Your legacy was to follow the family line
And now they say we’ve lost you too
Oh dear Lord how can this be true
We prayed and hoped for a miracle come
But alas fate had claimed another Kennedy young
Our own son, our chosen one
Rest peacefully now with Jackie, Bobby and John
