Our love and light lingers always
This is for my friend who is dying. It's important to give people the space and grace to connect with joy and happiness despite the circumstances. Death doesn't have to be a constant sadness.
Our love and light lingers always

Just for today
Could we pretend that all's ok
Just in this moment
Could we sit here without praying
Let's connect through our humanity
Let's connect through our hearts
Let's connect through our relationship
Let's connect through the arts
I can't walk outside or travel
But I can appreciate our trips
Our visits down memory lane
I remember a lot despite memory dips
Could you give me time?
Could you give me space?
Could we embrace happiness?
Could we share grace?
I know that I need daily help
And you're taking turns to be by my side
I know that each day you're wondering
When I'll need an oxygen mask to survive
No one wants to talk about it
There's so much unspoken in this house
Let's not dwell on all the sadness
There's still hope and love about
Let's connect through our hope
Let's connect through our light
Let's connect through our love
Let's connect through the delight
Remember that this is my home
And soon it will be left to you
When I die and go to Heaven
May my passing free the truth
Our love and light lingers always
Our feelings and memories are held dear
Don't mourn my passing from this earth
Please never live in fear
Will you give yourself time?
Will you give yourself space?
Will you embrace happiness?
Will you share grace?
Just for today, you can remind yourself
Let us focus on all our joy
For every soul is on a path
To create connections beyond the void
