Our Love

All the world’s greatest words couldn’t express how much you mean to me. Thousands have tried, men and women alike, to capture love in words we can read. But just saying love is like saying a deep ocean or a green tree. Sure technically true but those words are small and bland they might mean “love” but they don’t mean “us”. Our love is the ring you made, our secret gifts. Every fight and every rift, We’ve mended with time and gentle words. Praises we can’t let go unheard. Our love is team colours, both yours and mine. Navy like the sea, burgundy like wine. It’s being by each other’s side, Whether we take the world by crawl or stride. Our love is screaming fits and flowing tears. Comforting each others’s fears. You’ve seen me change so much these years. Paths may, but love never veers. Our love is infinite like all of space. Yet down to earth, simple, and chaste. There’s nothing that keeps a girl in place, Like her closest friend’s warmest embrace. Yes all the world’s greatest minds, have called love the world’s greatest words 1,000 times. And tonight I put myself among them, adding this small poem of mine. And no I’m not the greatest mind, these words can’t capture our love’s shine. But I promise you these words are ours, my love is yours, and yours is mine.
