Our Loss

Despite the vets,
All of our pets.
Pass one by one.
We all used to have fun.
Now there are only two.
We’re starting to get a clue.
That pets are ephemeral.
Burial after burial.
The pound is around the corner…
But I would rather have her.
Luna, Natalie, and Faith.
None of you a mistake.
It was us that were mistaken.
That you would never be taken.
