Our Little Angels
Under the heavenly stars, our children
Lay inside our hearts, on raw emotions,
sleeping with threadbare nights of pain,
Watch dark clouds making daily devotions.
With a trail of silent scar hushed in the air,
So, faint, we hear the tone of soft voices calling,
from far away, names wrap in tears coming near,
In memories, unwinding, the hurt began healing.
Dreams we dare believed would come true,
But another destiny was coming along the way,
For justice, they’ll never know how God will renew
Accountability due, and vindication for that day.
Redeeming the time, only in paradise will we find,
Our Little angels, wings crystallized and refine,
With innocent sparks of lights, of gentlest kind,
Rare gems so hard to find floats high as the sunshine.
Their charming beauty twining around the moon,
Soon, we too will rise in the twinkling heavens,
Out of bizarre sleep, climbing through the gloom.
The sacrifice will continue until something happens.
To stop the stitches bleeding rivers of hate,
Losers and religious accusers displace and vile,
An encampment of evil is seated at our gate,
The turmoil of extremist, live in the swamp of guile.
Hurt leaves the pain only God can heal,
Death steals the dream our little angels cherish,
It doesn’t mean they are gone from our soul,
Love will wait a lifetime to fulfill the promise.
You do not fade away with the rainy showers
You have a place prepared in my prayer
Where the memories blossom in beautiful colors
And there you live in everything we remember.
