Our Last Good Night

Our last good Night — was soft with Breath —
The Lamps forgot to shine —
The Dark leaned nearer — just to hear
What Silence would define —

No Farewell spoke — yet parting stood
As Frost upon the Door —
A stillness — heavy with the Truth
We dared not ask — for more —

Your Shadow paused — then let me pass
As Moons relinquish Sea —
Love did not end — it only learned
A different Gravity —

So if the Stars — should miss our Names —
Or Dawn — neglect our Sight —
Remember — we were infinite
For one — sufficient — Night —
