Author's Notes: "Our Human Nature" is a Rhymed Couplet I originally finished on January 5, 2016. In this particular write, I delved head-first into the challenging realm of "Human Nature." What I attempted to do in this write was to draw a compare and contrast of certain circumstances or situations in each couplet under the thematic rubric of Human Nature. Just remember as you read each of the seven couplets in this rhymed write, think of the notion of where you have some idea or truism that can be reflective of the "Yin-Yang" concept in Chinese philosophy. (That is, the "Yin-Yang" philosophy describes how contrary or opposite forces in our natural world are actually interconnected and complementary. This duality of forces is part of the natural balance and symmetry of life -- or so says this particular philosophic concept!) Now that I've attempted to wax philosophically on the synchronized dynamic tension and result of this poem -- all I can say is, "read and enjoy the verses!" This poem constitutes one of my many takes on the elusive concept we're all familiar with and know as "Human Nature." I bid you all "Good Luck." (Gary Bateman - April 18, 2016) (Rhymed Couplet)
