Notes About The Poem

Our Forgotten Children

Isolated and abandoned, a child with no hand to hold
So many are lost and forgotten, on a trail of love gone cold
They learn amiss, never knowing what’s truly right
Existing cold and alone in the darkest of nights

They live abused and beaten, unloved and mistreated
Constantly disappointed and tired with their happiness deleted
Some will try to run and hide in the street
Others are trapped and caged, with only their breath and fading heart beat

More often than not, children who grow up without rectitude
Will become adults with no moral compass and a destructive attitude
Unfortunately, times are changing as we lose these kids one by one
We need to act now before our future unravels and comes undone

This pain and suffering, was not created by God or given to us in his plan
It’s been brought about by free will and the evil hearts of man
We’ve done this to ourselves, the effort was not joint
Please be careful with your anger and where your finger may point

So tragic Mark, those forgotten kids and yes the evil of mankind is to blame. One day they'll have to account for their evil ways. Tom

Some of them account for it when they are still here
