Our Dream
To be a phantom of a dream
A fragmentary morning sleep
Dreamed by someone who died unseen
Someone whose love was deep
And now, awake, I see that was
Not real, as it seemed
But I don’t ask to know the cause
I take it as a dream
And this old dream has quite a look
Much younger than it could
I must have read it in some book
I definitely should
But there’s no point in self-deception
The truth is plain to see
Its not a trick of a perception
This dream of you and me
I live a dream until it floats
Like clouds in the summer sky
And blue shall fade, then dark unfolds
You know the reason why.
