Our Bench
A torso that acts a pillow
A lap that offers a seat
The repetition, never a monotonous conformity
Joy found away from most; only with two
An abyss is unseen through eyes that mesmerize.
Your gait I tease, as steps provide distance
Respect does cure unwelcome thoughts
Nearing fingers meet, to lock
Arms offer carriage, reluctance acts a foil
The wait diminished, by a willingness to be.
Consciousness is discarded, through an untamed smile
Lips that conceal, part to reveal
An act of rarity, made a norm
The happiness you speak, on behalf of both
The moment is significant, a muse for later.
Harsh lyrics heard, romanticized
The mood uplifted by irregular beats
Comfort is spoken, by a taste that does not sour
My body cringes, as your breath is felt
My soul is tingled, by silent words.
Sessions go by, lectures absent
Regret not harbored, notes prevail
The reason for attendance, not diluted
Temporary escapes, can be forgiven
Our rendezvous; our bench.
