Our Beginning
Over your shoulder
you peer
at me
and
smile
turning
my heart
into
a
beating
drum
I
want to
open
to
you
this room
filled with
others
at
various levels
of
every day
seriousness
transforms
into a
bedroom
in its
center
bed
sheets
pushed to the
side
invite
us into
the
opening
my thoughts
are
there
within
it
as
your
blue
eyes
scan
my
shape
I wish
the
light
to be
dim
I feel
the
world
with us
and
want
it
to
fade
away
and
this
room
to
be
ours alone
filled
with the
quiet
urgency
of
relieving
the
heated
weighted
pull
that
burdens
us
