OUR ANCESTORS IN THE SMOKE

OUR ANCESTORS IN THE SMOKE

In wisps of smoke, a haunting sight,
We glimpse the past as shadows take flight.
But while our eyes perceive the haze,
Our ancestors already felt the blaze.4

Their spirits bear the weight and pain,
Their struggles fought until they were slain.
Through the echoes of their stories told,
Their sacred fire still burns bold.8

With every tear the smoke may shed,
Their voices echo, never dead.
Their wisdom whispers on the breeze,
Through generations, it does appease.¹²

Through their eyes, we see the plight,
But in their hearts, it ignites an eternal fight.
Their battles fought with courage to continue,
And the fact they inspired us is true.¹6

We stand facing the smoky air,
Connected to the past, aware.
With gratitude, their strength we borrow,
To shape a brighter, kinder tomorrow.²°

For though we see the smoke's dark hue,
Our ancestors feel it through & through.
May we honor their struggle, never forget,
And strive for athe kind of world we all target.²4
