Other Worlds
In other worlds we could exist
If only we released the weight
Which keeps us well within the mist
And hides our freedom’s gate.
Yet when the liquid words pour down
Like grace notes scribbled on a score,
I am inclined to don the gown
Of new-found hope and ask for more.
The strain is lifted thus, though clouds
Are playing far beyond my reach,
Whereas your voice my own enshrouds
While seagulls fly across the beach.
