Other Than, God, Who Can You Trust

Other Than, God, Who Can You Trust ? By: Tom Wright 6/5/98 Private people some have chosen to be. Not so by some great design you see. We've many thoughts which we won't share. To confide in others we simply wouldn't dare. We chance making an enemy if this one rule we bend, when sharing dark secrets with a friend. For the surest way we might lose our hold. Is in sharing things that we don't want told. We each tell one person and on it goes. Until at last we discover most everyone knows.

This poem speaks an undeniable truth about the complexities of trust and the caution we exercise with our innermost thoughts. The straightforward yet poignant words remind us of the fragility of confidences and the ripple effect of sharing secrets. It’s a reflective piece that encourages discernment and highlights the importance of faith in something greater when human relationships may falter.
