Other States

Michigan weather is what I know.
Here there is a lot of snow.
I think the wind from our lakes is great.
I don’t really go to other states.
I only know about fast food near me.
I don’t know about food In Tennessee.
I only know December cold.
So I wear a coat, bulky and bold.
But leaving the airport-
Headed to the resort.
I take off my hat and gloves.
As the sun beats down from up above.
I don’t know much, but really should know…
That not every state is filled with snow.

David Crandall July 10, 2024 at 8:18 PM Great poem, Angelica. I'm from the Los Angeles area. I was 21 years old (a long long time ago) when I first saw snow falling from the sky. I had seen it on the distance before, on a mountain. I never even knew that in other places, it could rain during the summer!
