Notes About The Poem

Orange Bonfire

There was laughter in the crisp autumn air,
And a large bonfire blazed on the beach,
As the birds came singing from everywhere,
Under a sunset orange and gold as a peach!

The burnt orange flickering of the bonfire,
Echoed the feverous light of a waning sun,
Like euphoria that always takes you higher,
Smack dab in the middle of revelry and fun!

This one smack-dabs me with all that revelry and fun, under the orange sun... Suddenly I am craving a creamsicle... Hmm. You have a future in advertising with that company, Evelyn. I'll be your reference... :) gw

Would you?! I've had thoughts along those lines of late. We used to call those dreamsicles, and now I want one. Thank you for your thoughts. :D
