Opressor Or Liberator
It’s hard to say goodbye
And harder to deny
That we are fragile things
Carelessly going through life,
But well aware that we’ll all die.
We seldom realize
The pain that others hold inside;
And damned be the ones
Who can really understand them.
It’s a sad thing to know
That we are forced not to let our feelings show…
If you met someone with big sad eyes,
Would you turn and walk away?
If you were the one who had those same eyes,
Would you not want them to stay?
And if they didn’t,
Would you not want to break down and cry?
It can sure take you down a peg
When you see someone
Standing on their last leg.
Do you feel better about yourself
Knowing that it’s them and not you?
Do you feel better now
Knowing they are dead?
Do you secretly envy them,
Because they’re laying in a casket
Surrounded by loved ones,
And you’re stuck in this world
Full of the sick and corrupted?
There are countless ways
That one can leave this world:
So, what do you choose?
Will stay and help fight
Another person’s demons,
Or will you step aside
And watch them slowly die?
And although
You can’t help those that refuse,
You can still be there
And lend an ear
Whenever they want you near.
Just let them know,
And know that they, and you,
Don’t have to face it all alone.
