Opinions

What’s wrong what’s right, Be friends don’t fight, Pre-described rules come be, But opinions always differ you see, Humble or arrogant, Sometimes thoughtless or fragrant, My are mine by heart and soul, Bright as light or black as coal, I know what I think is right, I believe in silence and a fight, Wrong is bound to subside, As with my best friends side by side, I battle prejudice and anger, At wrongs and pain, averting danger, I feel as if I might shout out, What are you going on about, Stay away from the poor, Don’t go to play on the moor, Why? Aren’t they human too, What has money got to do, In being friends or enemies, Watching them suffer and living in peace, I won’t change my opinions for the world, However many negatives are hurled, I know that I am right, And so I will fight. 06/23/2020 Submitted to: Opinion Poetry Contest Sponsor: Kai Michael Neumann

It is good to stand firmly for what you believe. The question is how to come to terms when both sides believe they are right and neither side possesses the capacity to listen. I believe the biggest impediment to peace is fear. If we first seek to understand our brother we open their eyes and ears and eventually their hearts. When we push against them we strengthen their resolve.

Indeed, thank you for your enlightening words. Silence is necessary at times like those of which you speak. I agree with you. And as the line goes... Everyone is right in a sense sometimes unknown to others...Rashi. :)
