Only the Beginning

Only the Beginning 

Do not weep for me
For now it is heaven I see
Glorious fields of green 
And oceans blue
Twinkling stars in the sky
On angels’ wings I now fly
Do not weep for me my darling one
I am forever in your heart
Heaven – once a mystery 
Is now just a start
And once again we shall meet
Until that time comes
Smile for me
Dance for me
Be light on your feet
For when you think of me
I’ll be thinking of you

Jennifer Turner January 28, 2014 at 6:50 PM Many thanks to you all. I wrote this poem after a dear friend lost her battle with cancer. I framed it and gave it to her teenage son, her mother and brother. I am truly honored to have this poem recognized. Best to you all, Jen
