Only needed me

You failed to see the warning signs
I was literally crying for help
You ignored my S.O.S.
Say in front of you and wept
Told you that my father passed
You didn't think it would affect
My life and everyone around me
Directly and indirect
Still I tried to contain it
Helping you although I felt
Your little side remarks
Hitting way below the belt
Imagine a life with half a mom
Daddy not allawed to help
Because of narcissistic interests
But she couldn't do it all her self
Lost the only person in my life that cared
An absence tremendouly felt
Yet you beat me beyond submission
And you use my guilt against me
I'm only just one man
In a land that's set against me
Down on my luck
My well of confidence is empty
Cause whoever I confide in
Only use my words against me
Never offer up a hand
To help me stand erect again
Help me dust my shoulders off
I shouldn't need it I’m just sayin
The way I've been there for you
I could use reciprocation
Quess thats just not how it works
I'll figure out this situation
While you still receive the perks
Of being in my good graces
I’ll have you know that biting your tongue hurts
It renders the food tasteless
I find myself abstaining
When I find out you made it
I gagged when I ate it
It’s sad cause it was my favorite
When you made it, I celebrated
And I use to savor it
Now when I ingest it
I question where the flavor is
I didn’t want it to be this way
Your careless way’s made it this
I’m done blaming myself
I don’t need to be revered
I’m claiming myself
Don’t need you to champion for me
I’m taking back my belt
I’ll be a champion for myself
