Notes About The Poem

Only Dandefluff

In a field of time, remote,
I'm destined to forever float.
Once, I was sure-footed,
youthful and firmly rooted
till a little girl went "puff".
Now I'm only dandefluff.

You know, this 'dandefluff' is how a Japanese person would pronounce 'dandruff.'

haha, Now I'm only dandruff. I should be more careful when I make up words.

Hello David, I smiled for this one has such a gentle lift to it, light as the seedhead you write about. I love how you move from being “sure-footed, youthful and firmly rooted” to that soft moment of release when the little girl goes “puff.” It’s simple, but it carries that tenderness of time loosening its hold. A small poem, but it drifts a long way. Blessings, Daniel

Hi Daniel, I like how you put that! I guess poems might possibly drift, like dandelion seeds.
