Only a Memory

No longer will I look for you,
I’ve realised it’s time to let you go,
It’s the right thing to do.
There were times I would have followed
You anywhere,
But then again that was when I foolishly thought you cared.
I do remember those days with such joy and laughter,
Never once did I think of what would come after.
To you it seemed like a wondrous game,
Only when this game was over nothing and no one would ever be the
Same.
So now my love I bid you farewell,
What the future holds for us
Neither one of us can tell.
We shared a space and special moments in time
Those special moments only a few like us are allowed to see,
But now those special moments will only have to be a memory.
