One Thing We Agreed On

Candy ribbon amber skies tantalized my imagination tonight
there was an eclipse the second we saw a touch of moonlight
our boat was still. In silence we waited, expecting something.
What wonderfulness could this mystical ethereal evening bring?
My three companions felt compelled to be silent too.
We sat in the boat, admiring the sky with its amber hue.
Suddenly a white dove flew past with something red in her beak.
We looked at each other, but there was not a peep or a squeak.
I felt I had been kissed with a messenger from heaven herself.
We sat silently, waiting for the next faerie, sea witch or elf.
It was a night we recalled later, each of us having not enough prose.
The one thing we agreed upon…..the white dove held a red rose.

Oh wow, definitely a sign! There were two male pigeons fighting over a female pigeon in my hospital room. It sort of made me worry if they were there to get me. They couldn't get inside. I loved hearing them coo like doves...fighting not so much. The nurse offered to get someone to clear them out, but I said no, leave them alone. They are company!

They were just outside a clear window that had been prepped for COVID overflow. I happened to be put there. I could watch all that was going on. It was fascinating, I can tell you. Entertaining.

Were they actually IN the room? Wow! I am picturing this threesome and it makes me grin big.
