One Single Rose

Theirs no amount of roses
One can buy for one another
To symbolize love
For they shrivel and die.

He brought me one single rose
And it still grows in this heart of mine.
Is this a sign or a pose?
Will you always be mine?
Will you love me till the end of time?

When a bud falls a tear will too.
Does this mean I’m losing you?
My heart is true.
This love is new.

When a stem is left but a limb
I’ll fear goodbye.
Until then I’ll continue to try.
Must this rose cry?
