Poetic Triplet
A tercet in which all three lines follow the same rhyme, a a a, b b b, etc.
When you asked me to the school dance
I thought, wow, this is my one chance
to experience true romance
Your smile just made my dream come true
for I've always felt drawn to you
but never guessed you'd like me too
I'm walking around on cloud nine
like I drank a bottle of wine
and can't wait to post it online.
This is the happiest I've been
I’m wowed, if you know what I mean,
then I checked my computer screen.
You were playing a joke on me
and posted it, so all could see
just how gullible I could be
You then tried to apologize
but though you had tears in your eyes,
it was a fruitless exercise.
You may fool me once, but not twice
that one time will have to suffice
you’ve had your one roll of the dice.
