One Red Rose For You
J-anuary twenty-fifth morn
U-ses the bright skyway;
D-ark shadows evade
Y-our life on your birthday.
T-uesday twilight zone
I-s brought to oblivion;
P-ouring rain and chill
A-re far from the horizon.
N-ew dawn early Wednesday
E-rases the gray and blue;
R-apture comes from the scent
O-f one red rose for you.
