One More Day

Daylight slips away
Another lonely night descends
The darkness that surrounds me
My one and only friend

At times I wonder who I am
Why I'm so alone
A world without the man I love
A world to me unknown

I thought I could survive the pain
I thought I could be strong
My fragile heart so broken
My fragile strength all gone

Though daylight fades, I’ll find the dawn
Your love’s the light I’m leaning on
Through shattered nights, I’ll make it through
I live each day remembering you

All my hopes are lost
My dreams are washed into the sea
There is no point to life
Without the world of you and me

I put my hands together
Then on my knees I pray
"Please God give him back to me
Just for one more day

I need to hold him once again
Before I let him go
To say I love him one more time
I need for him to know"

I’d rather go through any pain
Than what death puts you through
I’d rather sleep forever more
Than wake up missing you..
