One Little Bird
Sometimes if birds don't fly
they fall to earth and die
a mother's only concern someday
you'll lift your wings and fly away
but if you'd stayed
with your broken wing
the songs in your heart
you'd never sing
fly high
and sing a song of praise
for hopes and promises
to come your way
if you don't mend, that tiny little wing
the songs I write, you'll never sing
only when your strong again
can love and laughter
start to began
a mother knows
that the time will come
when little birds they have to run
a time of tears
but I've only gained
for having one little bird
with a broken wing...............
