One Ill Never Know

There is One I’ll never know
but someday maybe get to show
the light within me shine.
He’s like a star up in the sky
burning bright and unreachably high,
lighting this way of mine.

He’s not the only One up there,
there’s half a dozen just as fair,
but this one stands apart,
for being One who’s captive glow
could make a spark inside me grow,
to show the world my heart.

Does this One I’ll never know
realize the way he glows,
seemingly just for me,
has been the source of a guiding light
in nights of poets quiet plights
of Silent mystery?

I’ll never shine as bright as he
or be the star he’ll always be
guiding us from blindness
but the One I know I’ll never know
I’ll someday maybe get to show
reflections of his kindness.

A simple thank you, Silent One, for inspiring travelers
through the world of word.
