One Heart Beat
One by one, and side to side,
uniformed group, standing in formation.
Awaiting are they, of the command,
from the leader, giving the designation.
All hearing in their ear, to turn left,
before facing leader; is the next thing, that they do.
Everyone realizing, soon after that,
the heartbeat of marching, is coming through.
Align is the leader, there in the center,
stating forward; for all, to take, the initial step.
Ready in motion, on the left foot,
is all; while the leader, on cue, keeps the pep.
On the left foot, and the right foot,
on the one, two, three, and four.
As one is, an participant, in front and back,
one's part, in place, one can't ignore.
With 15 inches, along the front,
and 6 inches, in the actual rear.
The distance, 30 inches, all around,
is the way, soldiers like to appear.
Crowds begin to witness, the power,
the might; as soldiers march, to then greet.
In unison, is all; as each step, in place,
becoming a unit; with one, direct heartbeat.
