The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

One Day Alcohol

You've been there for me during empty nights when I feel nothing
I say I'm going to give you up, but you know I'm bluffing
I'm ready for more of you as soon as you're half full
I'm always there to answer your last call

You've been a friend to a lot of people and an enemy to just as many
You provide me with a confidence boost when I'm running on empty
Sometimes you make me sick to my stomach but I still come back to you
I keep so many things bottled up that I always need more than a glass or two

You can be the life of the party but also the cause of deaths
You can make me feel great but also cause dark thoughts and missteps
It's easy to blame you for my flaws and disconnects
You sometimes encourage me to send messages and make calls I'll regret

You took my father from me at a young age, maybe that's why I want to bond with you
I have you close to me daily, and I know that's wrong to do
But I don't get hangovers so it's easy for me to carry on drinking
I'm using you to stay afloat, but in the long run you could be the one to make me start sinking

You've been there for me during empty nights when I feel nothing
I say I'm going to give you up, but you know I'm bluffing
You give me some great times, but at others I wish I never found you
One day alcohol, I will learn to live without you
