One Big Lonely

A People Helping People person is what I used to be,
but I'm a People Helping Animals person presently.
I'm not a people person anymore like the way I used to be.
People disappoint, people deceive,
but my animal companions do not warrant such worries.
They are devoted to me unconditionally,
as I am always to they respectfully.
Whether they reside in my home permanent or temporarily
or whether they are at a shelter where I'll volunteer freely,
or whether they be strays or wild life living independently,
I display towards they what they display towards me.
I respect them, I protect them and I love them unconditionally.
I thank God for their existence quite regularly,
because without my animal companions my life would most certainly be
total isolation without any true meaningful company.
A life that could be defined as One Big Lonely.
