Once When I Was 7 Years Old

Once I was 7 years old with Mother looking down at me
And the story that she told of the Lord setting me free
Saying He is always at my side that I never need to fear
That in Him I should abide oh this point to me was so clear

When I was 11 years old my Father turned to me to say
No closer could anyone hold in the making of your way
Repeating moms own story most things I already heard
Always the part of His Glory that my own heart had stirred

Once when I was 30 years old my wife looks over at me
Saying remember the story told, our Lord setting us free
All that pain that He went through crucified upon a tree
And He did it for me and you so you and I could be free

Once when I was 60 years old my wife recently passed
You'd think life would be cold knowing that nothing last
But like mom saying at seven He is holding us so dear
For when we all get to Heaven it will all become so clear

Once when I was 7 years old..
