Once We Were Old

And now we laugh and dance and gaily swear,
Sprung at last from vanity’s iron mold.
The blushes of youth we’ll no longer wear,
Age urges us to let our hearts unfold,
Live young with the urgency of the old.

Indeed, you express it well, my friend Bernard. There are freedoms to be relished and appreciated with getting old, and I truly relish the beauty of your inspiring poem. I'm so glad to see you back, you've been missed, dear friend.. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
