Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time 
She dreamed she didn't cry 
She dreamed of smiles, laughing outloud 
She wished over and over, that this could be found 
And deep in her heart, she really did try 
To dig out of the darkness, the tears and the lies 
And when she woke up, she realized one thing 
The smiles and laughter, were all just a dream 
So she sat down with her notebook, her feelings, and pen 
And she decided her sadness, finally had to end 
So she wrote about everything, that bothered her inside 
She wrote about the things, that she thought she had to hide 
She wrote about life, and what she's been through 
She wrote about love, and heartbreak too 
And when she reread it, tears fell from her eyes 
Then she finally smiled, and told her past goodbye 
And once upon a time 
She really didn't cry
