I learned to walk I walked

I learned to run I ran
Once
I learned to talk I talked
Once
Was when my life began
Once
I learned to read I read
Once
I learned to love I lost
Once
I learned to seek I said
Once
A penny paid the cost
Once
An hour past a day
Once
A flower fades
Once
An answer stopped to say
Once
The debt is paid
Once
Upon a time a clock
Once
A day to strike the chime
Once
A mountain now a rock
Once
A moment caught in time
