Once Upon

Words tumble and they fail when unspoken
Promises shudder and they wail when they are broken
But for you and I they cling on
our love was like a story once upon
But Happily ne'er came ever after
a cry went out following dying laughter
But then we were young and newly dawn
back in that story of once upon
When the stories were all glitter and love
we ne'er feared the stormclouds breaking above
But then, again, we were just waking in loving yawn
Until that story ended once upon
