Once Upan a Time
Silent thoughts and heavy breathing
Running through screaming woods
Eyes upon you
Faster and faster it chases what was left
Your heart pounds out of your chest
Steady crunching of trees and twigs
You go to scream but you can’t find the words
Or the voice that was given to you
A gift that was left on the floor
Slowing down you climb this hill
Looking off to the ocean you stop at a cliff
The night sky beautiful
But the person behind you intends to harm
Devastation as you see your face in the mirror
Through broken words and lost I love yous
You plant your knees into the ground
Breaking down a look of sympathy
From your other half
The monster you have become is the man with the gun
On your forehead a slight click
Your worthless body fell off the cliff
Like fallen stars you rest in the ocean
