Once But Nevermore

Once I loved a girl,
And I tried to give her the world.
Tried too hard,
Caught me off guard.

Now I don't care
and she says it's unfair
but what do I say
my mind was set that day.

The end was here
and her reaction, I did not fear.
For my mind was set
and me, she never will get.

Once I loved that girl,
and I was her world
She tried too hard,
She should have been on guard.
